The company was started in 1989 by Al Christian who has been in the building industry since 1983. As a result of working in the construction industry for this length of time, he recognized a need for a General Building Contractor who would offer TRUE customer service, and complete customer care! 

Our working range consists of about a 50 mile radius including, but not limited, to the cities of Lake Tomahawk, Minocqua, Woodruff, Lac du Flambeau, Rhinelander, and Manitowish Waters.

With the current focus on the environment and our impact on how we relate to it, there has been much interest in "green building and remodeling". At Big Country Builders we have been performing many "green" practices before it was popular. We continue to learn and improve on ways to lesson our impact on the environment, and strive to build with maximum energy efficiency in mind.
